Mechanism of the Online Gallery

We are inviting you all to join our group and create exercises to develop for artist by means of competitions. This group is intended for the artist to communicate, compete, collaborate and all what it takes to create a working society for us. Roces Artist Guild will be creating an online Gallery but only the top artworks of the members will be posted in it, only those who will pass the 75% over all average will enter in the online gallery. Every month RAG will be conducting a monthly series of online competition with different themes, rules, requirement, and each entry will be tag on David's Facebook account (soulraven_asusa@yahoo.com). It will be judge by 3 judges but every month the 3 judges will be replaced randomly. The result will be posted on the day it is scheduled.

Screen Shot Fan Art Competition

theme: Back to School

We will be creating an online gallery for Roces Artist Guild but the only artworks that will be entering it would be the top 3 best artwork. It will be just in the following Criteria:

40% relativity to the theme

25%presentation

15%personality

10%punctuality
5 % concept
5% creativity

For this month competition an artist is ask to pick an anime/ cartoon group then create a screen shot. Draw a fan art of  the said group you chose with them wearing school uniform in a scenery inside a school. A screen shot is an artwork that looks like a scene from a anime movie. just like this

Make an adaptation of  the chosen group as a student without removing the group's identity. Traditional art or digital art will be accepted, and Artworks should be Tag in my account in Facebook ( soulraven_asusa@yahoo.com)

2012 ozine fest

another costrip for a few member of RAG, just whining up to visit cosplayers and observe. The place was fun and we blend in, well it is nice to see costume that was created with passion and dedication. And also lovely to criticize inaccurate presentation of props. there were just 4 members of RAG I there, Abegail, Marlen, Michael and David, regardless how many of us are we sure had a lot of fun. maybe next time we will be joining the cosplayers with s more prepared costume and props. Maybe next time I can tell a more interesting story in our journey to cosplay event.

Rock and Roll

"If you have the heart and soul you can rock and roll" that's what Edmer and Albin told me. the only people I new who really know what music is. All of us have the same enemies, and those are posers. I met this guys way back when we are still freshmen and sophomores,  but I knew them deeper just when we are seniors. These guys are fucking hardcore, what they love is metal music. They appreciate underground artist like I do, because they know the beauty of art must not be shown to those who don't appreciate it.  Most of the time our genre is misunderstood by most of the people and that's the way I like it.

Now its time for us to walk in the path of Music, this was the our first band and we call ourselves "Sunday babies". Albin Tolentino takes the drum, Edmer Ortiz takes lead guitar, Janrei Ignacio on Rhythm and David Barrameda on Bass and Mariel Dazo and Mich Chua on vocals.

I know we are new to this industry but like what I always keep in mind "every artist was an amateur before". Step by step again we can work things up.

Summer Worshop

Summer Workshop

April 25, 2010 an art workshop was conducted by our Church Sacred Heart Parish for children age 5-12. this was the very first outside the school project we must attend to. The project was given to Roces Artist Guild so I called Micahel Angelo Bolocano to assist me in the said event.   

This is my first time to handle a workshop and my first time also to teach children 12 years old under. It was new and yet overwhelming, although some of them don't are naughty we have no problem teaching them the very first step of art. In music "you must know the rules firs before you can play by heart" but Visual Art is the other way around. You must first play by the heart then you can now play by you rules. Thanks to this children now I know the meaning of sacrifice. Before I teach them I asked my self what do I get in teaching them? then soon I realized that this art workshop is not about me; it is about theme. It doesn't matter what I get, what really matters is what they I give to them. Summer Art Workshop sure was fun and I made remarkable friends in the process.

Final Masterpiece for our Dear School

March 29, 2010

Since the day RAG was legalized stage designing has been assigned to us. From the show of Tanghalang Filipino Club (TFC), Student Artist Club (SAC) but our favorite of all was the Graduation Stage; our final masterpiece for our batch and I want every one of them to walk in front of it. March 25, 2010, five days before the big day and everybody is busy preparing for it. From VI-Uranus to VI-Star all students were called for the practice and anybody who won’t be attending it will sure face serious consequences. But I guess not for us, we are the exemption because we have a different duty than to attend the march practice.

 

We must create the last piece of art that our complete batch mates will look at. March 23, 2010 I, Mr. Mano and Arra went to divisoria to buy materials for the stage decoration. Afterwards I called one of my most reliable member, although I don’t treated them as my member; I treated them as what he really is to me, I treated him as my best friend.  For 5 days and 5 nights, from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm we are working and having fun on our collaboration artwork. Working late and watching the night sky with Owl city music in my ears that made my last days as a high school memorable. Calm breeze touching my skin and cool wind whispering in my ears always reminds me how grateful I am to have my dreams achieve in the right time we planned. I may not be the greatest student of my time I'm sure I do had  a great time.

2009 Art Exhibit

September 18-19, 2009

During the celebration of 48^th years since the foundation of Roces High School RAG made its first participation in the said celebration. With the provision of the adviser Mr. Dennis G. Mano and the permission of the current principal of that time Dr. Grace Tariman, the first Art Exhibit was held inside the school ground and made possible by yours truly RAG. We are the very first legal club to ever hold a costrip event inside the school ground. This simple happening became a sign that we finally got the freedom of expression and the freedom to be heard.
